Still sick =( Though it was wonderful receiving my payslip today and finding it more than expected- thanks, Paid Personal Sick Leave! Yes, it's my first time calling in sick to work (last week) and first time getting paid for being sick, so that's at least something to lift up this damp, sick and tired soul.
Had a really big dinner last night, the biggest I've had in ages, since sick= sacrificing meals for more sleep. Actually, I should be sacrificing some blogging time for sleep too, have work 6:30am tomorrow, but it can't be helped- am too much of a dedicated blogger (stop scoffing, you.)

This beautiful artwork looks like it could have been Adriano Zumbo's, but it's not. From Guylian Chocolate cafe, this was their Golden Treasure- saffron honey mousse and ginseng bavarois with layers of crispy hazelnut crepe and olive oil sponge.

tt's Passion Temptation, white chocolate mousse with caramalized passionfruit cream. Funny how I ordered the manlier cake with ginseng and tt ordered the girly sweet one =P Role reversal?

This was from three weeks ago. We've already consumed one whole box of mooncake- wayyyy before the mooncake festival even start. Double eggyolk! The salted duck eggyolks are the only reason why I like mooncake. tt doesn't like the eggyolk (uncultured...), which is fine, cos it means I get it all =)

Big breakfast while at Bondi Junction one day. Bad memories from that day, let's not talk about it and move through the photos quickly.
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
My earl grey tea! =D I have a big stash of earl and lady grey teabags in the kitchen cupboard because they're on special at the moment! Not going to run out anytime soon, but this was at a cafe- real tea leaves are always good!
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
The cafe- Cellinis. Quite a nice cafe, reasonably priced and quick service, it's in Bondi Junction's Westfield top level I think.

This was before city2surf~ Bondi Beach.

I think it's been photoshopped too much, the waves look ominously dark.

Aww... it's always cute seeing dogs on beaches, but it's somehow even cuter to just see their footprints.
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
I've forgotten which Thai restaurant this was at, but it's not great.
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
My salt and pepper squid salad wasn't too bad, but standard was pretty low. Even cheap Newtown Thai is way better....
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
... not to mention cheaper too.

Random present/homework from tt- Suikoden I and II... in Japanese. I swear, I played it for 5 minutes, talked to a few people, and my time of reading what they say triples compared to playing it in English, not to mention the amount I actually comprehend gets halved. I think I shall just find a walkthrough =_=
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
New sushi train that opened right outside Bondi Junction station! It used to be a clothes shop that said "closing down" for at least a year and a bit, we were starting to suspect the shop was just scamming people into thinking it's a closing down sale and everything's cheaper than normal. It's finally gone.
From Week 31-33, 2010 |
Pretty decent. I can't really tell when it comes to sushi trains, they're all pretty much the same to me. Except Sushi Rio in the past. It's gone bad now =_=

I liked this though. I remember having it first at Chatswood and icie told me it's fake abalone. The texture is chewy and firm, really good! Had two plates of this =D
Abrupt end, time to sleep!

You'll be fine for suikoden 2~ just remember to load the save file from suikoden 1. When you finish I have 3,4 and 5 for you to play =)
Normally eggyolk is nice, but in mooncake I find it's not very nice... and uncultured D=? I'm the definition of being cultured.. =P
scoff.
that manly guylian one sounds good.....
haha i also ate a box of mooncake liaoz....
remb to buy some for dad!!!
=)
jie
You're uncultured if you dislike the eggyolks in mooncakes =P
The ginseng in the cake was bitter, so even though the cake was quite sweet, it all balanced out =) very nice, but expensive for a cake =_=
Jie, we have the stamford hotel style mooncakes here too! but super expensive, and I can only find it in city, don't know how to bring back cos it's frozen ><
They've always had those kind of mooncakes but they're kind of expensive over here. It shouldn't be too hard, you could put it in that thermal bag from the iron chef dinner or an eski with some ice in it. Actually, didn't it say the 冰皮 mooncakes came with a thermal bag..?
Anyway, my brother agrees with me, normal mooncake is best without eggyolk =)
I'll have to add my support to the egg-yolks-in-mooncake side. It's so much better with a yolk. Or two. Yolks in lotus seed paste and red bean paste both. What's with those nut ones though - that's just blergh.
I saw a box that has triple eggyolks! With one, they always misplace it, so either one or two quarters won't get any eggyolks at all, while one quarter gets most of it. With double, it's a little better, but with three, you definitely won't get a piece without any eggyolks in it!
My dad likes the nut ones, I don't.
When is the actual moon festival anyway? =|
When is it? No idea! I only find out the date so I know when they'll slash the prices!
